HYPER4 Racing Series

HYPER4 is an exiting new class of racing in Australia. With multiple race series in the works.

This hugely popular class in Europe is Knows as the VT250 & GK4.
Many race series exist with the most well known (to me) The “Swissauto Cup”

Hyper4 Class Regulations

It is our intention to provide a family fun class or racing where the best driver wins, not the richest.   Below are the rules run for the Swissauto cup in Europe, It is our intention to run these rules for the Australian Swissauto Cup
Other HYPER4 racing series may run dirrerent regulations. We will update this website and show all race series and regulations available here.

7.1 Chassis

Designed according to the CIK/FIA guidelines. Maximum 1 chassis per race event is allowed.

7.2 Rear axle

Diameter 50mm, wall thickness: minimum 1,9mm. Magnetic material only.

7.3 Brakes

Hydraulic brakes only. The oil line between master cylinder and caliper must be reinforced with a
steel hose. For security reasons an extra cable, minimum 2mm, must be placed between the
master cylinder and the brake pedal. Front brakes are permitted.

7.4 Rims

According to the CIK/FIA guidelines : diameter 5 inch
Maximum front width : 132mm (measured outside rim to outside rim)
Maximum rear width : 215mm (measured outside rim to outside rim)

7.5 Tyres

Slick : Vega XP soft (Yellow)
front : 10×4.60-5
rear : 11×7.10-5
Wet : Vega W6
front : 10×4.50-5
rear : 11×6.00-5

7.6 Rear bumper

Obligatory, CIK/FIA homologated not adjustable plastic rear bumper only. It must cover minimum
60% of the width of the rear tyres.

7.8 Front spoiler

Obligatory, CIK/FIA homologated plastic front spoiler only.

7.9 Side-pods

Obligatory, CIK/FIA homologated side-pods only.

7.10 Petrol tank

Plastic petrol only, maximum 9 liters. Minimum 1 fixation point + 1 support point are required.

7.11 Age

The minimum age to compete in HYPER4 races is ??. 

7.12 Weight

Minimum 168kg at any time.

7.13 Fixation of extra weights

All extra weight must be attached with minimum 1 M8 bolt/2,5 kg to either the chassis or the seat on such way it doesn’t fall off during the race or training session

7.14 Numbers

Black numbers on a yellow background (Number on kart of rookie driver must start above 100)

7.15 Communication

Al ways of communication between driver and crew during the race are prohibited.

The transponder must be attached to the rear side of the seat, maximum 30cm & minimum 15 cm of the tarmac.

7.17 Engine

Maximum 2 helvenco250 engines per driver per event are allowed.
All engines must be standard “out of the box” and foreseen from either the original factory seal or one from an authorized helvenco250 dealer. The engines shall be conform to the “General homologation sheet helvenco250” and its eventual addendums.
The maximum rpm of the engine is electronically limited to 12.000.

7.18 Exhaust

Only the genuine helvenco250 manifold and muffler are permitted.

7.20 Drive

Chain only, pitch 219, the gear ratio is free.

7.21 Flywheel

7.22 Spark plug(s)

The following spark-plugs are accepted: NGK-CR9E, NGK PMR8A & NGK PMR9B

7.23 Air-box & filter

The helvenco250 original air box with double air filter are obligatory. Both must be conform the helvenco250 homologation sheet.

7.25 Injector

Only the genuine helvenco250 injector conform the addendum “EFI” on the homologation sheet is tolerable.

7.26 Throttle body

The “butterfly type” throttle body has a maximum venture of 37mm. Tolerances, see addendum “EFI” on the helvenco250 homologation sheet. It is absolutely forbidden to add or remove any material on the throttle body or the butterfly.

7.27 Startermotor

Only the genuine helvenco250 starter motor is permitted

7.28 Battery

Only battery type YTX5L-BS can be used. This battery must be fixed with a strap in the original support supplied by helvenco250 that on its way must be attached to the chassis with 3 retaining clamps.

Unleaded RON 95 fuel only. It must be a standard product that is available at any local petrol station.

7.29 General

Any changes or modification to the helvenco250 engine that is not expressly permitted in this document is
NOT allowed.

7.30 Technical control

Technical control of the engine after the race
• Race control may require one or more engines to be dismounted to make sure that the conditions of eligibility and conformity are fully satisfied. For obvious reasons these actions never take place at the race track. Therefore the engines are placed in a special box that will be equipped with two numbered seals. A document including both numbers of the seals is overhanded to the driver(s) as a proof his engines are taken into custody. Within 2 weeks after the race the organization will invite the driver/team to be present at the moment the technical control of its engine takes place.
• The driver accepts that it is possible its engine must be partially or completely dismantled so the scrutineers can check if all components are conform the homologation. If this is the case the organization will not reassemble the motor. In case of dispute, only the measuring equipment of the organization is representative.
• The organization has the right to invite a third party at the technical control, but only if this third party offers an “added value” to the control procedure.
• When a driver/team stays absent during the technical control of its engine, that particular engine can’t be checked. In this case the driver will be automatically disqualified for the complete race.
• If the scrutineers make a determination that an engine is not conform to the regulations, the driver will we disqualified for the entire race. Also a disqualification can’t be dropped in the championship ranking.

7.31 Regulations

These regulations will apply from 1 January 2021 and replace all previous versions.
